Hello! I am Dave Clement, and I am a retired business and technology lawyer with 21 years of experience, where I focused on technology transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, commercial contracts for both services and goods, data use, privacy, information security, software, and intellectual property. In addition to these focus areas, I have a broad understanding of general business law topics such as employment law, tax law, employee benefits, real estate, and environmental law. I also assisted public company clients with their quarterly and annual securities filings, which gave me a strong familiarity with financial statements and accounting principles. I am a skilled writer with keen attention to detail.

Before my civilian legal career, I served for 20 years in the U.S. Navy, first as a surface warfare officer for three years and then as a Judge Advocate (JAG) for 17 years, where I honed my leadership skills. I have been a parishioner at St. Michael for 24 years and am in my fourth year on the Finance Council. During my time on the council, I have participated in several budget cycles. As the Chair of the Budget Committee, I lead a four-person team that reviews budgets, financial statements, and related financial information prepared by the St. Michael Finance staff.

Outside of my council duties, I enjoy visiting our four children and ten grandchildren, as well as backpacking, hiking, biking, traveling, reading, and cooking. What I enjoy most about being on the council is the camaraderie with other members and the opportunity to ensure the parish remains fiscally strong so it can serve the community for decades to come.

For anyone considering getting more involved in parish activities, I recommend learning about the various ministries and volunteer opportunities available at the parish, school, and preschool. Find a role that matches your interests and talents, and volunteer to make a difference in our vibrant community.
