I am excited and honored to be the Director of Music and Liturgy at St. Michael the Archangel! We have a culture of beauty, reverence, and engagement which infuses the entire parish, especially in the area of music and worship. We aspire to draw every person into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through the worthy and beautiful celebration of the Holy Mass and the other rites of the Church.
My wife Andrea and I have been married for 36 years - she is a ballet professional and the artistic director of a ballet school and company. We have six children - three boys and three girls - plus one son-in-law. God has greatly blessed our family, and we love being together and sharing various artistic pursuits. In addition to singing, conducting, and playing the organ, I am a published composer and arranger of Catholic liturgical music, and a 4th degree Knight of Columbus. My current hobbies include playing the banjo and smoking an occasional pipe, though not necessarily at the same time.
It is my responsibility at St. Michael the Archangel to ensure that all our liturgical celebrations and sacramental rites (baptisms, marriages, funerals) are celebrated with beauty, order, and the "noble simplicity" called for by the Second Vatican Council. Contact me if you would like to join a choir, play an instrument, serve at the altar, read at Mass, assist with Holy Communion, care for liturgical vessels, vestments, and linens, or simply hang out to talk theology and smoke a pipe.
Favorite Bible verse: "Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." (Philippians 4:8)
