Hello, my name is Deacon Glenn Dudek. I am married to a wonderful woman named Lolita who has been at my side since 1990. We have three wonderful children, Christina, Michael, and Kyle. We also have been blessed with three granddaughters, Isabella, Mia, and Aurora, and one grandson, Oliver.
I was born and raised in New Jersey and served seven years and six months in the US Navy. I currently work as an operations manager for a logistics company out of Durham.
I began my journey towards the diaconate about ten years ago when I felt God calling me to do more. I was already a reader and a Eucharistic minister, and I spent a lot of time visiting the sick and shut in. However, during prayer I often had the feeling that my ministry was not complete and that God was wanting me to do more. Then one day back in 2009 the diaconate program was announced in our church bulletin. I thought that maybe this was what God was leading me to. I signed up not knowing if I could succeed because I signed up at the last minute and many other men were waiting for years for the class of 2016 to start. Also, to have to go back to school so late in life, with a full time job, I was not sure how it would end.
With Gods help and grace I was ordained into the diocese of Charleston, SC with the class of 2016. My deacon process included four years of study at Saint Leo’s University where we studied Christian Theology. I served as a new deacon at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Greenwood SC. I am grateful to be here at Saint Michaels and I am blessed to be one of your deacons.
When I can, I enjoy kayak fishing. I look forward to trying out the many lakes in North Carolina. I enjoy collecting Matchbox cars as well as cooking on my Kamado Grill.
I look forward to seeing you at Mass.
