AAMEN MINISTRY
The St. Michael African Ancestry Community is a ministry dedicated to the gathering and involvement of the local African Ancestry community through activities, prayer, and social events. This ministry serves as the St. Michael chapter of the diocesan African Ancestry Ministry and Evangelization Network (AAMEN). We strive to support St. Michael Parish and the Diocese of Raleigh by establishing an active African Ancestry Community, inviting the entire St. Michael parish family to join us in our mission.
The African Ancestry Ministry and Evangelization Network (AAMEN), established by the Diocese of Raleigh, fosters the mission of the Roman Catholic Church to:
- Spread the Gospel
- Celebrate the Sacraments
- Form a faith community
To carry out this ministry, we seek to create an atmosphere where individuals of African Ancestry:
- Can maintain their identity
- Heighten their visibility
- Enhance their lives as Catholics
The ministry is committed to nurturing those in the faith, reconciling those who have fallen away from it, and providing a welcoming church home for the unchurched through conversion to the Catholic faith.
MISSION
The mission of St. Michael African Ancestry Ministry and Evangelization Network (StM-AAMEN) is to promote the spiritual principles of the Catholic faith among its members and to share our heritage and God-given gifts with our parish and community. All parishioners are welcome to join the ministry and participate in its events.
