JESSE TREE
JESSE TREE
Description
The annual St. Michael Jesse Tree Ministry provides Christmas gifts to children in need throughout our community. At the beginning of Advent, our Jesse Trees are adorned with ornaments representing children's gift requests, helping make a child’s Christmas brighter.
Each year, this ministry supports families from Cary and beyond by providing gifts for children aged 0-18 and food gift cards to assist with holiday meals. This year, we aim to support 390 families—40 more than last year—and 1,045 children from 12 schools and community organizations. Your support makes it possible for us to bring holiday joy to even more families in need.
How the Jesse Tree Works
Ornaments: In our gathering space, trees are decorated with ornaments, each representing a child’s Christmas gift request.
Taking an Ornament: Parishioners are invited to select an ornament, fulfill the request, and return wrapped gifts (with the attached child’s card).
Sorting & Distribution: Volunteers sort and prepare the gifts for distribution, ensuring every child’s wish is fulfilled.
Ways to Get Involved
- Volunteer: Over 100 volunteers are needed for sorting, shopping, wrapping, and distribution. It’s a wonderful way for families to volunteer together and give back this holiday season.
- Donate: Contributions are essential to providing food gift cards for over 300 families. Donations can be made online or in person.
The Impact of Your Generosity
