Hi!  I’m Fr. John De Guzman and I am a Parochial Vicar at St. Michael. As a Parochial Vicar, I mainly assist Fr. Michael in carrying out his vision for our parish. I do this primarily by attending to my pastoral duties (Masses, Confessions, Sick Calls, Sacramental Celebrations, etc...), being the school chaplain, and assisting couples in their marriage preparations.

In my time off, I love to play basketball, meet up with friends for a meal, eating in general, and listening to music.

My favorite Bible story is the Parable of the Prodigal Son, a parable that always serves as a reminder for me of the power of God's mercy, capable of penetrating even and especially the darkest areas of sin, guilt, and shame that we might find ourselves in.

I love meeting new parishioners, sharing a meal with their families and getting to know their stories, working with an excellent staff, learning from the wisdom of the priests of St. Michael, and hearing confessions. I always look forward to meeting new people (and I'm always down to share a meal), so please don't ever hesitate to say hi after Masses!
