Hello, I am Julie Gavaghan, and I am a highly regarded real estate professional with extensive experience in commercial, industrial, and residential development. I bring years of brokerage and property management expertise to the Blue Heel team, where I am one of the owners of Blue Heel Development. We are a local real estate development company with offices in Raleigh and Charlotte. As the Lead Developer for the Blue Heel Raleigh Office, I spearhead the company’s Commercial Development efforts.
Previously, I served as Chief Operating Officer of Keystone Corporation for 16 years, managing and coordinating the Development and Construction Team. My responsibilities included overseeing design, construction, financing, property management, and leasing. Over my career, I have supervised the completion of approximately 2.1 million square feet of Class “A” office, single-story R&D, and warehouse commercial properties, as well as about 1.3 million square feet of residential developments in the Triangle area. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from NC State with degrees in business management and finance.
In addition to my professional work, I have been a lifelong parishioner at St. Michael’s, having been baptized here 53 years ago. Currently, I serve as Chair of the Capital Project Committee on the Parish Council, where I help guide the parish’s planning and development initiatives. One of the things I enjoy most about being on the Council is the opportunity to give back to the community that has been such a significant part of my life.
Over the years, I have been involved in various parish groups and ministries. I was part of the team that helped build the playground the first time, have served on several committees, and have led a Bible study called Walking with Purpose. For those considering getting more involved in parish activities, my advice is simple: It’s a great way to connect with others and give back to this wonderful community.
