MEET LAURA, OUR PARISH RECEPTIONIST
St. Michael's – June 1, 2021
Laura Coronilla recently moved from her role in Faith Formation to become our new parish receptionist. Laura is located in the recently reopened Trinity Center Monday-Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm to assist parishioners with any needs they may have. She is bilingual, so she is also able to assist our Hispanic community.
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
I am from Mexico. I have been in the US almost all my life. I have lived in Dallas, TX and in North Carolina. I have been in North Carolina for the past 15 plus years. I like to travel to the beach, to new places, and working with the youth. Singing and dancing used to be my passion, but I will sing occasionally at home. I have a 3-year-old son who is very active in sports and his collection of monster trucks.
How long have you been a parishioner at St. Michael's? What ministries or groups have you been involved in?
I have been a parishioner for 10 plus years here at St. Michael. When I was younger, I used to be in choir for the Hispanic Mass. During this time, I was volunteering as a catechist for high school Faith Formation. I have been working with Faith Formation for the past 3 years. I was helping coordinate events for confirmation and the youth group (before Covid). I have helped running errands for the Faith Formation department and youth group, assisted the leadership board to go to the National Catholic Youth Convention, and helped with confirmation preparation.
What are you most looking forward to in your role as parish receptionist?
I am happy to get the opportunity to serve in this position because it is something different and out of my comfort zone, but it makes me feel blessed to work with all St. Michael Staff. The thing that I am looking forward to in my role as parish receptionist is just helping our parishioners, talking to them, and seeing their faces and them seeing the same face every day. I want our parishioners here at St. Michael to feel that they have been helped on what they needed help on and served by the church.
